NY 89 to downtown and beyond: Jan Zeserson; Mary Bouchard from T-burg (she rides 18 miles each way !!!!!!); other prospects coming from the north. Mary leaves at 6:45 to 7:00 from T-berg
Here’s an update from Jan:
A few of us have made a plan to meet at 8:00 a.m. on May 16 at the intersection of Perry City Rd. and Rte. 89. We’ll head into town together on Rte. 89. Dave Kerness, member of the Ulysses Town Board, will join us. Spread the word. The more the merrier!
From Gene Endres (Hobos Lullaby Host): Hi Jan, I’m expecting to be there. Shopping for a new bike, but the old Fuji should do the job just fine along the mostly level Rt. 89!

Our Rte. 89 Bike to Work REPORT: Seven bike commuters rode to town together from Glenwood Pines Restaurant — Mary, Dave, Rod, Joyce, Gene, Ken, and Jan.
Mary rode in from Trumansburg (!) and timed it perfectly to meet the rest of us at 8:00 a.m.
The fastest in our group met up at the Lehigh Valley Restaurant with David, Francis, and a couple others coming from West Hill (thanks to cell phones) and rode on into town together.
Traffic was fairly heavy on Rte. 89 at 8:00 a.m.
We were hoping to get a chance to tell the Ithaca Journal reporters that we’d rather be riding on the Black Diamond Trail (which runs parallel to Rte. 89), but they were elsewhere.
Other reports from the morning commute?
